How to stage your property

Selling your property and not having much success? Are you scratching your head, wondering why your lovely propety isn’t being snapped up? feeling like it’s never gonna happen. Maybe it’s time to call in some help. Consider either some Consultancy and/or staging support.

You could be time poor, lost interest with your property or it just isn’t your thing. But, you do want to move on. Sometimes we need to consider our options and ask for help.

It might be hard to believe, but this is something I really love to do and during my life, have had to do this many times. Sadly, this isn’t for everyone and I see time and time again, people getting in wrong. There isn’t a magic formula exactly and there are many variables, like location, current state of the market, high prices. But there is a lot you can do to to make life easier and make your house sale swifter, don’t we all want that? This can be harder to achieve when you are very busy with other aspects of life and because, well, it’s a little bit to personal. In other words it is hard to be objective and see your home through the eyes of a perspective buyer. But that is exactly what is needed in order to give you that helping hand and to save time and money. Your options are, do some research and read up what you personally can do, to improve your chances of selling or consider some additional support, like hiring a home / property stylist, such as myself for either hands on support or some consultancy.

De-personalise — it won’t be your home much longer, so why not start now. Pack away personal items: photos, ornaments, clutter. If you have nowhere to put them, use storage boxes and drape them with fabric, but don’t hide lack of storage—buyers will notice. If possible, move things to a garage, friend’s place, or a paid storage unit.

you’ll be selling soon. Pack away personal photos, keepsakes and clutter. Use boxes and cover them if needed, but don’t try to hide a lack of storage — buyers will see it. If you can, move belongings to a garage, a friend’s home, or a storage unit.

Declutter - Nobody wants to see clutter. A tidy home shows it’s cared for. Decluttering can feel overwhelming, so start small: one drawer, one shelf, one room. Use a simple system, take it step by step, and ask friends or family to help to keep it fun and focused. Plenty of resources can guide you—don’t give up.
